What does "AS IS" mean when purchasing a truck or piece of equipment?

All items are sold “AS IS.” Buyer assumes all risk and responsibility for purchase of said item regardless of any display of marketing accuracy or other verbal information.

Buyer is invited and encouraged to inspect and operate any such item in consideration for purchase and is encouraged to have a third-party inspection and performance testing if said buyer is not available for such inspection and testing.

BTS Equipment offers training when and where called upon for equipment basic operations only.

Buyer assumes all risk and responsibility for use of such purchase according to its original manufacturer’s safety and operational guidelines.

Any and all manufacturer updates, recalls, certifications, ongoing service maintenance, and training are solely the responsibility of the buyer.

What testing do you perform on your vehicles & equipment?

BTS Equipment lists the following testing and inspection procedures:

• Links and rods

• Die-electrical insulated boom testing

• Load testing

• 10-year inspection intervals on certain components

• Visual crack inspection (steel and fiberglass)

• Bucket inspections

• Speed test

• Control systems test

• Travel height display

• Levelers inspection

• Limits of boom damage (cuts, cracks, welds)

• Hydraulic systems performance

• Outrigger functions

• Rotation tolerance and performance

• Upper and lower control testing

Is shipping included in the purchase price?

No, shipping is not included.

Can you arrange shipping outside the U.S.?

Yes, BTS Equipment can provide shipping to any international port of the customer's choice.

Do I have to pay taxes if I'm purchasing from out of state?

If the truck(s) are shipped directly from BTS Equipment to a location outside of Michigan, BTS Equipment does not collect state sales tax. The customer pays their applicable state sales tax when registering the truck(s) in their state.

Do you have truck financing available?

Yes. BTS Equipment states that its personnel can work with customers to review financing options available through third-party lenders, including loan and leasing options.

You don't have the truck or equipment that I'm looking for. Can you help me find it?

Yes. If BTS Equipment doesn't have what the customer is looking for, the company says it will search for available options.
This may include connecting the customer with another truck dealer within BTS Equipment's network if doing so helps locate exactly what the customer needs.

What is your restocking fee policy?

BTS Equipment states that if a buyer decides not to proceed with purchasing a truck after making a deposit or full payment, a 20% restocking fee based on the total item price will be charged.

The archived policy states that this applies to purchases funded within three days of the transaction and that there are no exceptions. BTS Equipment says the fee helps cover administrative costs and potential lost sales from other interested buyers.

What are some of the requirements of using bucket trucks under OSHA guidelines?

When operating close to power lines, applicable requirements must be followed. Only qualified employees should operate the equipment and that overhead lines should be properly grounded.

Maintain required distances, clearly mark controls, conduct daily tests, and use appropriate protective equipment such as:

• Safety goggles

• Work gloves

• Hard hats

• Protection from falling objects

The operator should keep their feet planted on the bucket floor, and distribution and load should be checked to ensure they remain within applicable safety guidelines. The brakes should be set, and controls should not be operated without the employee's permission.

These precautions are intended to protect people within the operating area of the trucks and equipment.

Do you service aerial units?

Yes. BTS Equipment states that it tests and services both truck-mounted and mobile track-unit aerial devices.
